THE members of the Cumnock Action Plan steering group are set for a busy weekend.

On Friday August 12 they are holding a 'Litter Pick-up' at the Woodroad Park from 10.30am.

They are looking for more volunteers who want to get out and get some fresh air whilst helping to make a difference.

The meeting point for the litter pick up is the top car-park at the Woodroad.

All volunteers are given gloves, bags and the appropriate equipment. If you fancy helping out and getting involved then email Neil Given on neilgiven@gmail.com or phone 07472986802.

On Sunday, August 14 the group will be hosting the first Annual Cumnock Duck Race at 11am at the top bridge at Woodroad Park.

The event will be fun for all ages, get involved and enter a duck and bring the family to the Woodroad and see if your duck can be crowned the champion.

You can enter a Duck for £1 at Yipworld, Barrhill Road, Cumnock between 8am and 6.30pm or at the stall at the Celebrate East Ayrshire event at Rothesay House on Saturday August 13 from 2pm until 4pm.

They already have over 200 ducks in the race and you could be the winner.

You can be in with a chance of winning a first prize of £50, second prize of £20 or third prize of £10.

Not bad for just £1 to enter.

All funds raised will start the pot off with monies to improve the Cumnock area.
