PUPILS from Fusion School of Dance wowed audiences at Cumnock Town Hall with their annual show.

The dancers, aged between 2½ and 16-years-old, performed a stage production called It’s A Showtime comprising routines from classical musicals such as Hairspray, Grease and Burlesque.

Annual class awards were also presented to — 1st Steps: Lexi McBlain and Kara Keller Junior: Amira Naru, Emma Duncan, Karis Clarkson and Niamh Alcock Junior Advanced: Hollie McConnell, Sophie Donnelly and Sophie Laird Senior: Kenzie Archibald and Iona Young Little Miss Personality: Calu Campbell, Ellie Milligan and Lexi Neish Competitor of the Year: Courtney Lennon Dancers Dancer of the Year: Arianna Antonucci Overall Merit Award 2016: Morgan Marshall Fusion has enjoyed another successful year, when all stage pupils achieved a 100 per cent pass rate in their annual BATD exams in January with 82 per cent gaining the highest possible mark from British Association Of Teachers Of Dancing (BATD) examiner Susan Fraser.

Principal teacher Libby Graham Wallace also trained three long term student teachers — Nadia Rutherford, Charlotte Wilde and Leona Rankin for their professional associate exam and was delighted when all three passed with flying colours, attaining top marks.

Libby herself was also examined for her fellowship exam, the highest possible BATD teaching qualification and received highly commended marks from both her examiners.

Competitive pupils also notched up some notable awards and title wins, up and down the country, in some major freestyle events and championships.

With the new term about to start, Libby and her daughter and associate Eleace McConnell, along with her newly qualified teaching team are looking forward to the introduction of some new classes.
