CORONATION Street has arrived in Scotland!

The soap's set arrived in Glasgow yesterday and was carefully unpacked before going on show to visitors at the SECC from this weekend.

The tour, which features the ITV soap's iconic cobbles, sets, props, costumes and memorabilia is making its first foray outside the north west of England.

It will be in Glasgow until the New Year.

An impressive, purpose-built inflatable showdome will feature authentic sets, including Roy's Rolls and the Rovers.

With a "Virtual Reality" welcome by fan favourite, Alison King (Carla Connor), visitors will then be immersed behind the scenes of the nation's favourite street.

Tour manager Gareth Cole, plus guides Claudia Castellini, Jessica Rideout and John Currie, were on hand to help unpack their precious cargo yesterday, before putting the finishing touches to the exhibition.

Visitors can saunter past Street Cars and experience the much-loved surroundings of Roy's Rolls and The Kabin before stepping through the doors of the famous Rovers Return for a souvenir picture behind the bar.

The Glasgow tour was launched following the success of the Manchester one, with nearly one million visitors during its 18 month run.

When it closed last year demand was so great that it was decided to create a tour.

Tours will run daily from 10am.

Tickets for Glasgow dates now on general sale at ticket master.co.uk/coronationstreet.

After leaving Glasgow next year, Coronation Street will head to Belfast.

Operated by Continuum Attractions, Coronation Street On Tour in Glasgow was brought to the city by STV in partnership with Gala Bingo.
