WE are now in the thick of silly season, as the Ayrshire juniors try to build their squads ahead of the new campaign.

Glenafton have had a busy week as they captured two new signings.

Glens gaffer Craig McEwan has signed Hurlford United midfielder Ryan Boris.

Boris has played at Blair Park under ex-Glens boss Darren Henderson.

McEwan also bolstered his squad by adding ex-Albion Rovers goalie, Blair Lockhead to the ranks. The young keeper will give McEwan a decision to make as he battles for the goalies jersey with Brian McGarrity.

Muirkirk gaffer, George Grierson has also been busy. He added goalie Fraser Stewart to his squad who will now come in as a player coach for the Burnside outfit.

The Chronicle reported several weeks ago how Talbot were set to loser William Boyd due to work commitments.

It has now been revealed that Boyd is set to move Stateside to pursue a new career.

In a statement through the official Talbot website, Boyd said: "Last summer I did a summer internship for ten weeks in London with ABInBev, the largest beer company in the world, behind such beers as Stella Artois, Budweiser, Corona and Becks to name a few. Following the Internship I went back to university to finish my final year and graduate in chemical engineering. During this time ABInBev offered me a graduate position conditional on my finale grade.

"The Job is a Global Management Trainee. It’s a ten month intense graduate program, which aims to teach me how every part of the company works, all over the world starting in St Louis America in August."

Boyd added: "Playing at Talbot was easily my happiest playing days, winning five medals, one of which the Junior Scottish Cup.

"I feel extremely lucky to say I have played in front of the finest fans in junior football, on the finest park in junior football and with the finest footballing minds and players in junior football.
